Port Blair, Mar 07: The Police Department is repeatedly issuing press note cautioning general public against use of black film of any kind on wind screens (both front and rear) and side glasses in all type of motor vehicles.
But the vehicle ANC 1B, which is believed to the vehicles of CINCAN’s office is opening using grey colour screen on the rear window. The vehicle was moving inside the Port Blair city today during afternoon hours but no one imposed any kind of challan on the said vehicle. One wonders whether the Police Department has two sets of law, one for public and one for Defence Officers.
Not only this, the vehicle was moving from one gift shop to another with three people in it and the guests were also taken to Anthropological Survey of India. If ANC’s vehicles are kept for tour and travels then the ANC must intimate general public also about this, so that common man can also take the same vehicle (purchased with public money) for shopping or purchasing vegetables, everyday one by one.
If ANC Vehicles which has ANC 1 series, are misused so openly then lawful use of vehicles, given to lower ranked officers, can’t be expected.
