The Ministry of Rural Development under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) has implemented the Model CLF Strategy across the Country to create ‘Proof of concept on promotion of member owned, member managed, member controlled and financially sustainable SHG Federations’ and develop Social Capital for replication of the strategy in the remaining Blocks. To achieve this goal, the Mission envisages establishing at least one CMTC per District managed by one of the Model CLFs in the District, so that it would cater to the Capacity Building needs of all the CLFs in the District.
Accordingly, an event was organised at Bheronda, Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, wherein 100 Community Managed Training Centres, established across the country were inaugurated through online mode in the first phase by Hon’ble Minister of Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan today.
In line with this initiative, the Directorate of RD, PRIs and ULBs, under the aegis of National Rural Livelihood Mission Scheme in collaboration with the Department of Labour, A&N Administration, Sri Vijaya Puram has established 1 Community Managed Training Center (CMTC) in the ‘Labour Welfare Center’ at C.D Block Ferrargunj which shall be run by the Anmol Model Cluster Level Federation formed under DAY-NRLM in C.D Block Ferrargunj.
The CMTC was inaugurated at State Level by Ms. Nandini Paliwal, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary (RD) in the presence of Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, Secretary (RD)/Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman), Shri Anil Agarwal, Secretary (Labour), Shri Vinayak Chamadia, IAS, Sub Divisional Magistrate, South Andaman and Shri Shiv Singh Meena, Director(RD) along with Ferrargunj Panchayat Samiti Pramukh, Pradhan, Ferrargunj and Brindaban Gram Panchayat, Zilla Parishad Member, Kanyapuram & Brindaban Constituency and other PRI members and officials from RD as well as other line Departments along with the SHG members under DAY-NRLM.
The Community Managed Training Centre established, operated and managed by Anmol Model Cluster Level Federation, South Andaman District, shall be used for rendering training for skilling, knowledge transfer, strengthening of leadership, program management, convergence for the members of SHG, VO, CLFs, PG, PEs, PCs, Cadres, CRPs and other stakeholders. The CMTC will also be used for demonstration of various livelihoods and development models viz., Agri nutri-garden, Vermi compost, NADEP, Goat/Dairy/Poultry-rearing models, Enterprises related activities – Bakery Unit, Book Binding Press, leaf plate making, computer training centres etc.
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Rural Livelihood Mission has planned to establish 2 more CMTC in the North and Middle Andaman District and Nicobar District.
