Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 20: The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), GoI organized the 1st Anniversary celebration of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme today. The PM Vishwakarma scheme was launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister on 17th September, 2023 which is aimed towards upskilling the Vishwakarmas (Artisans) nationwide with the knowledge of modern tools and techniques coupled with credit support through soft loan for expanding their business with the objective of bringing their upliftment of socio-economic status and prosperity.
In this regard, a mega event was organized at Wardha, Maharashtra today for celebration of the 1st anniversary of the Scheme, which was live telecast at more than 450 centres, nation-wide through video conferencing. The event at Wardha was graced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister in presence of Shri Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi, Union Minister, MSME, Shri Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister, Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister, Maharashtra and other dignitaries.
As part of the mega event, ITI, Dollygunj and VTI, Bakultala as part of Training Centers under the A&N Administration had also actively participated at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT) Auditorium, Pahargaon, Sri Vijaya Puram today through Video Conferencing
The event was marked by Lighting of the Lamp by the august dignitaries and welcome address by Dr. Satyendra Singh Dursawat, Secretary (Industries). During the program, the ITI Dollygunj as a Training Centre displayed modern tools and equipments of the respective trades which were appreciated by the Hon’ble MP and the Chief Secretary.
The event was witnessed by Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, the Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Shri Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS, Director General of Police, Shri Sudeep Rai Sharma, Chairperson, Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council, Senior Officers of A&N Administration and all other dignitaries who graced the occasion.
The event concluded with distribution of certificates of Skill training to the successful Vishwakaramas (Artisans) by Hon’ble MP, the Chief Secretary and other invited guests.
