Port Blair, Feb 27: The Tribal Council, Nancowrie, has expressed its gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands for issuing direction to the concerned authorities in the recently held 43rd General Body Meeting of Andaman Adim Janjati Vikas Samiti for setting up of Tribal Research Institute in these Islands within a timeframe. Smt. Ayesha Majid, Chairperson of the Tribal Council, Nancowrie has expressed her hope that once the Tribal Research Institute is set up in these Islands, it would help policy formation and proper implementation of tribal welfare schemes through research-oriented projects of the Institute – which would certainly go a long way in overall welfare of the tribal communities living in these Islands.
The Tribal Council, Nancowrie has also expressed its gratitude and thankfulness to the Transport Department, Andaman & Nicobar Administration for organizing Awareness Camp on Transport at Kamorta from 14th to 18th February 2013 – which included Driving Test, Learning Licence Test etc.
In a letter addressed to the Secretary (Transport), A & N Administration, Smti. Ayesha Majid, Chairperson, Tribal Council, Nancowrie has further expressed her hope that such awareness camp became very useful and of immense help to the tribal people living in this group of Islands.
