Port Blair, July 12: In response to the extensive damage caused by heavy rain and flooding in the Diglipur Sub-Division from 29.08.2023 to 10.09.2023, the District Administration of North and Middle Andaman has today provided financial assistance to the affected victims. The assistance was granted under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).
Following the devastating flood, a dedicated damage assessment committee conducted thorough surveys to evaluate the extent of the damage inflicted by the heavy rains. Based on the comprehensive recommendations of this committee, a total of Rs. 15,28,121/- was disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to 385 beneficiaries. This swift and efficient action ensures that the affected individuals receive the necessary support to recover and rebuild their lives.
