Port Blair, July 10:A Startup Boot Camp was conducted at Industrial Training Institute, Dollygunj, empowering more than 100 students on Startups and knowledge to turn ideas into reality today. The Boot Camp organized by Industries Department aimed to foster entrepreneurship and innovation among young minds. The participating students were briefed about the Startup India scheme and made aware of the procedures for formation of startup, the benefits offered by the Government of India to Startups.
Shri Venkatesh Ch, Principal, ITI who was the chief guest, laid stress on forming of startups by the students which can be a rewarding experience, providing practical learning and potential financial rewards. He also encouraged students to leverage the resources and networks available through their educational institution and stay committed to their vision of self-employment.
Smt. Sunitha Kumari, Assistant Director (Tech), Directorate of Industries and Nodal Officer for the Startup India Scheme in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands briefed about the rules and procedures of the scheme and encouraged the students to not limit themselves to their academic studies but to work towards their ideas and be job providers rather than job seekers.
One of the DPIIT recognized Startup of these Islands, M/s Unicorniz Innovations Pvt. Ltd. narrated their success journey and delivered a live demonstration of their AR/VR software wherein they showcased the virtual reality tours of prominent tourism spots of these Islands.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Shri Shahid Khan, Industries Promotion Officer. The boot camp was a resounding success with students expressing gratitude for the opportunity to learn and grow.
