Port Blair, Feb 17: The Administration makes tall claims all the time about promoting tourism in Andaman and Nicobar Islands but in reality due to lack of coordination between various departments and PBMC, all these claims fall flat.
On Saturday the chocked drain infront of the DSS gate was cleaned by Port Blair Municipal Council and all the garbage was dumped on the parking areas, earmarked for private vehicles at the Gate.
According to sources, till Sunday evening the garbage was not cleaned and the parking space infront DSS gate remained occupied with it.
The DSS gate parking area is one of the busiest parking areas of Port Blair city and blocking one section of the parking place with garbage creates a lot of problems for auto drivers and tourist vehicle operators.
Moreover most of the tourists enter the Jetty complex area from the DSS main gate and nose busting smell of the garbage at the DSS gate, is leaving them upset. This has also become an eye sore for everyone. Such mismangaement also proves that how serious are we towards making Andamans a dream destination for tourists.
