Diglipur, April 16: Ahead of Lok Sabha Election 2024, Mr. Shantanu Thakur, Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, GOI visited Diglipur yesterday.
As per report, the Minister arrived at Diglipur in the evening and addressed a gathering. In his speech, he elaborated on Honourable Prime Mr. Narendra Modi’s overall achievements during the last ten years. He hailed Mr. B.P. Ray as the right candidate and urged people to vote for him. He said that his ministry is planning to upgrade the existing Aerial Bay jetty which is of a prime importance in terms of transport and communication for Diglipur.
Earlier, Mr. Vishal Jolly, Former State President, BJP Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Member Home Minister’s Advisory Committee, GoI addressed the gathering and requested people to vote for Mr. BP Ray and make Modi’s hand stronger. Mr. Anil Tiwari, State General Secretary, BJP, A & N Islands who came along with Mr. Jolly from Port Blair also addressed the public meeting. Mr. Tiwari also lambasted the INC and its failures in the past. He hailed the Modi Govt. and said that Mr. Modi is capable of leading India to its prosperity and turning it into a developed country. Mr. Ajay Bairagi, State President, BJP, A & N Islands who accompanied Mr. Shantanu Thakur also delivered his speech.
Earlier, Mr. Shantanu Thakur was given a warm welcome by the party workers. Before the public meeting, there was a huge motorcycle rally which started at 04:00 pm from in front of the BJP Office Diglipur and went to Sitanagar and then returned to the BJP Office after touching all the vantage points in transit.
The rally and the meeting were organised by Mr. Naresh Halder, Election Campaign In-Charge, Diglipur, Mr. Dipankar Mistry, Member State Committee Commercial & Social Contact, Mrs. Suniti Halder, BJP District President, Mr. Swapan Gupta, BJP District Cashier in association with BJP Yuva Morcha and with the assistance of party workers, BJP Office bearer said.
