Port Blair, Apr. 3: Acting on a specific intelligence input from reliable source, a team of PS Central Crime Station comprising of Inspector Girish Kumar, SHO, PS CCS, on April 1, 2024, apprehended one person namely Samar Chandra Das, S/o Late Sunil Chandra Das, R/o Kala Pathar, Sippighat with 174 pieces measuring 1.087 Cbm of illegally sawn padauk timber of different sizes and 08 door frames from his house. Padauk timbers were seized and accused person was detained after following due procedure.
The detained person along with seized articles were handed over to Officials of Forest Department, Manglutan Range for further necessary action. The general public have been requested to inform about any credible information pertaining to any kind of illegal activity on telephone numbers- 100, 232586, 233307, 9434280100. The identity of the informer will be kept secret, a press release from SP (CID) said.
