Port Blair, Feb 06: State Adoption Resource Agency (SARA) under the Directorate of Social Welfare organized an adoption awareness program at Anganwadi Center, Terylabad III, engaging numerous women from the community.
Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director (Social welfare) highlighted the importance of legal Adoption; he discussed the legal procedures and requirements associated with adoption, ensuring potential adoptive parents understand the legal framework involved.
Mr. G. Koteshwar Rao, Program Manager of the State adoption resource agency (SARA) discussed the welfare of children and the specific needs they may have. This fosters understanding about the responsibilities and challenges associated with adopting a child and also provides an introduction to adoption, explaining its significance and how it positively impacts the lives of children and families.
Mrs. T.Dharmila, Program Officer (SARA) explains the roles and responsibilities of adoption agencies, including how they facilitate the matching process and provide guidance throughout the adoption journey.
Additionally, the Anganwadi worker expressed gratitude to the State adoption resource agency (SARA) under the Directorate of Social Welfare and concluded the programme by encouraging attendees.
