Port Blair, Jan 28: Today at 5 am, a routine fishing trip turned into a tragedy when five individuals set out from Junglighat Jetty on a fishing trip.
As per reports, while en route to the Bada Balu area, one member of the group, identified as Mr. S. Krishna Rao, was spotted sleeping in the dinghy when the boat crossed Ross Island. As they anchored a short distance from Bada Balu to prepare a meal, the others noticed that Mr. Rao remained unresponsive after cooking.
According to reports, concerned about his well-being, the group attempted to wake him without success. Despite their efforts, Mr. Rao showed no signs of life. Worried for his safety, they promptly informed his family and transported him to Aberdeen Jetty before rushing him to GB Pant Hospital.
At Hospital, Doctors declared Mr. S. Krishna Rao, aged 53 and son of Late Apanna, dead around 12:10 pm. The cause of death is yet to be determined, and a post-mortem examination is scheduled for tomorrow.
