Port Blair, Jan 03: The ‘Rotary Club of Port Blair,’ in association with ‘NGO-WITH YOU,’ successfully organized an inspirational sports meet at Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS), Bambooflat, dedicated to extraordinary students with special needs. The event took place on January 3, 2024, marking a significant day of celebration and empowerment for these young athletes.
The meet was graced by the presence of Mrs. M. Bhavani, the esteemed Gold medalist in the 2023 Khelo India para-athlete competition, who served as the Chief Guest. Her motivational speech, sharing personal experiences and encouragement, inspired the participants, affirming the importance of inclusivity in sports. Additionally, Mrs. Bhavani’s commitment to imparting vocational training to children with special needs was highly appreciated by all.
A highlight of the program was the Rotary Club of Port Blair’s distribution of essential kits to all the participants from GSSS Bambooflat. The club and NGO also recognized the achievements of these young athletes by awarding them with certificates and accolades, celebrating their spirit and determination.
The President of NGO-WITH YOU expressed profound gratitude towards the Rotary Club for their collaborative efforts in organizing the event.
