Port Blair, Oct 09: On the occasion of World Cerebral Palsy Day 2023, CRC A&N-Islands in association with Directorate A&N-Islands conducted an Awareness Programme on “Sensitization for Anganwadi Workers on Importance of Early Identification and Intervention for Children with Cerebral Palsy” at ICDS Training Centre, Attam Pahad, Port Blair.
Mrs. Zarina Bibi, the CDPO chaired the programme. Mrs. Saranyah, Rehabilitation Officer, CRC A&N-Islands addressed the gathering and Mr. T.Y.Abid, the Lecturer Physiotherapy presented the session with the theme “The Role of Anganwadi workers in Early Identification and Intervention for Disabled.
Totally 43 Anganwadi workers from Urban ICDS project along with the staff members of ICDS Project participated. Mrs. Zarina Bibi asked the anganwadi workers to spot the children with Cerebral Palsy and connect them to CRC A&N-Islands for rehabilitation services.
Finally, the Rehabilitation officer delivered a vote of thanks followed by providing information about the Niramaya Health Scheme for four disabilities including Cerebral Palsy also and encouraged them to disseminate the information to their community.
