Port Blair, Oct 04: The Coast Guard fraternity at Andaman and Nicobar Islands including Ships and Establishment observed Hindi Pakhwada from 14 to 29 Sep 23.
On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, Inspector General Bhisham Sharma, Tatrakshak Medal, Commander, Coast Guard Region (A&N) appealed to the officers and staff of Coast Guard, including units based at Campbell Bay, Diglipur, Hutbay and Mayabunder to do maximum work in Hindi and earnestly tries to achieve the targets set by Govt. of India towards implementation of Official Language.
As a part of “Hindi Pakhwada” a number of competitions viz. essay writing, general knowledge, English-Hindi word meaning, Noting drafting and translation etc. were conducted to promote awareness towards implementation of Hindi in official work for Hindi speaking and Non Hindi speaking Officers and Staff.
A large number of personnel participated enthusiastically in various events and showed keen interest in promoting Hindi as Official Language.
The valedictory function was conducted on 04 Oct 23 wherein Commander, Coast Guard Region (A&N) awarded Cash prizes and Certificates to the winners and runner up of various competitions held during the Hindi Fortnight.
On this occasion the Commander, Congratulated all the participants and winners and advised all to promote the usage of Hindi in their day to day office correspondences. He also emphasized for maximum use of Hindi not only during Hindi Pakhwada but also to continue the same trend throughout the year.
