Port Blair, Oct 03: National Conference on Spices, Aromatic and Medicinal Plants for Economic Prosperity and Ecological Sustainability-2023 is organized by Andaman Science Association (ASA), Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands in collaboration with Directorate of Arecanut and Spices Development (DASD), Kerala from October 5th to 6th, 2023 in hybrid mode.
The event aims at providing a platform for scientific deliberations on various aspects of conservation, cultivation, crop protection, crop improvement, postharvest operations, value addition, utilization and entrepreneurship development in spices, medicinal and aromatic plants.
Ms. Nandini Paliwal, IAS, Commissioner- cum-Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest and inaugurate the programme on October 5, 2023 at 9:00 am at Dr. T.R. Dutta Conference Hall.
Around 150 participants from 22 states/ including UTs have registered for the event in online and offline mode. A total of 120 research papers will be presented by the reputed researchers, academicians and scholars from across the Nation under thematic areas namely: Genetic resources, conservation and crop improvement in spices and MAPs, Sustainable production technologies for spices and MAPs, Crop protection technologies for getting residue-free produce of spices and MAPs, Postharvest handling, value addition and marketing of spices and MAPs.
