Port Blair, Sep 17: ‘Indian Swachhata League-Season-2’, India’s first inter-city competition led by youth toward creating garbage-free cities under Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban, was held today in honor of the Swachhta Hi Sewa (SHS) campaign. In order to tackle the mismanaged waste problem and support the development of sustainable waste management, the Indian Swachhata League brings together communities, governments, and organizations. On September 17, 2023, around 6:00 p.m., Marina Park had a massive cleanup effort. Port Blair Municipal Council reached out to the public and urged everyone to join the movement and help it succeed.
More than 150 individuals attended the session, along with representatives from several of the Port Blair location’s NGOs, including the Bhojpuri Samaj, Allu Arjun Army, Yuva Bharat Samay, Andaman Helping Hands, and Dakshin Foundation. The Swachhta Awareness Team (SAT), PBMC, performed the skit on waste segregation & the prevention of marine litter.
Along with the SE, PBMC, and other government officials at Marina Park, everyone who attended had taken the Swacchta Pledge and participated in the event for the cleaning objective.
