Port Blair, Aug 07: This is for the information of the passengers that due to the damage of Panighat Jetty the passenger ferry services between Phoenix Bay and Panighat has been suspended w.e.f. 5th August, 2023 PM. Now to facilitate the commuters of Panighat and its adjoining areas the Directorate of Shipping Services will be operating her passenger ferry services temporarily between Phoenix Bay and Hope Town w.e.f. 07.08.2023 PM onwards. The schedule of passenger ferry service between Phoenix Bay & Hopetown will be as under:
Further to inform to the passengers that, due to operational/navigational constrains during night hours the following schedule will be operated between Phoenix Bay and Bambooflat instead of between Phoenix Bay and Hopetown.
Similarly, keeping in view the safety of passengers operation of passenger ferry services between Phoenix Bay & Hopetown will be restricted by the Port Management Board, Port Blair during berthing of LPG Tankers and other Cargo vessels (IMDG Cargo) at Hopetown Jetty which has been communicated to this Directorate vide Order No. 075//MSO/PMB dated 7th August, 2023. As a result, the ferry services will be affected/suspended during the above period which is beyond the control of this Directorate.
