Diglipur, July 20: Delay in issuance of Driving Licences to the unemployed youths who passed the Driving Tests in the month of May and June this year has become a matter of concern for the residents of Diglipur Island.
According to information, about 70 applicants most of whom are unemployed youths and aspirants for various exams passed the Driving Tests in the month of May and June 2023, but they haven’t reportedly got the Driving Licences from the concerned Department as yet, and hence they are facing huddles in attending interviews for various govt. jobs in A & N Administration. And most importantly, the matter has become reportedly more grievous as interviews for some govt. jobs requiring Driving Licences will be held on 23rd July 2023.
Meanwhile, showing much concern over the matter, Mr. Dipankar Mistry, Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Diglipur also wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration for immediate redressal of the matter.
When contacted, the Officials of the STS Unit, Diglipur told Andaman Sheekha Daily that a few numbers of Licences are ready at the STA Office, Port Blair for dispensation while rest of the licences will be issued very soon.
