Port Blair, Jan 07: The PCC President, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has recorded his gratitude towards the Lt. Governor of A & N Islands for allowing well equipped Media room and reduction of room tariff for journalists for which the Party has requested him earlier.
He also recorded his gratitude for approving reduction of room tariff for the physically challenged persons and also for the same category that comes under BPL which includes referral cases.
In this connection, Mr. Sharma has requested the Lt Governor through his letter of request to consider the cases of widowed, Senior Citizens, attendants of the referral cases and pension holders on the same line and consider them reduction of room tariff in all the three Andaman Bhawans at New Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai.
Further, Mr. Sharma has also requested to give some relief to the islanders who visit those places on holidays or other works than those mainlanders who are allotted rooms in these guest houses.
Later, Mr. Sharma has also requested to allow all these categories including those who have already been allowed reduction of room rent in mainland, to be considered the same facilities in all the guest houses in the AN Islands as a welfare measure.
