
Port Blair, June 06: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma participated in a conference on 5th June 2023 at New Delhi, organized by Microsoft, led by Mr. Antony Cook, Microsoft’s Corporation Corporate Vice President.
The conference focused on the potential of Generative Artificial intelligence and how the industry can support policymakers in promoting technology-led socio-economic development, with a particular emphasis on marginalized sections and underdeveloped regions of the country.
During the conference, the Member of Parliament spoke in detail with Mr. Antony Cook, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President on some crucial issues.
Recognizing Microsoft Corporation as a leader in the technology sector, the Member of Parliament engaged in a productive discussion with Mr. Antony Cook, exploring avenues for collaboration between Microsoft and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Of particular interest was the utilization of Microsoft’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds for various projects in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Discussions also revolved around Microsoft’s potential contributions in bringing advanced technologies to the islands, with a specific focus on the development of healthcare and education facilities for the local youth and citizens of Island.
Member of Parliament also emphasised that Microsoft corporation in collaboration with Andaman and Nicobar administration should set up an IT park in the island , which will provide jobs and opportunities of growth for the youth of the island.
