Port Blair, May 19: A case of attempted murder has come to light from Diglipur region of North Andaman. As per reports on the evening of May 17th, this incident occurred in Raja Flat Basthi of Syam Nagar village, under the jurisdiction of Radha Nagar Panchayat.
According to sources, Mrs. Pushpa Halder and her father, residents of Syam Nagar village, were attacked by Pushpa’s husband, Mr. Bappa Biswas, aged 34. The assailant used a machete, causing minor injuries to both victims.
The motive behind the attack appears to stem from a personal dispute between the husband and wife. During an argument, Bappa attempted to harm his wife with a machete. However, her father intervened to protect her, resulting in injuries to both parties involved. Sensing the presence of onlookers, Bappa fled the scene with his 7-year-old daughter, disappearing into the jungle of Raja Flat Basthi.
Later that day, the family members of the victim filed an attempted murder case against Bappa. Upon receiving the information, the police initiated a search operation in the jungle area with the assistance of local villagers. Last night, around 10:30 PM, Bappa left his child near his house before reportedly escaping further into the jungle. The police in Diglipur had been alerted by vigilant citizens who provided crucial information about the accused whereabouts.
