Port Blair, Apr 28: After a long wait, the new bus terminal in Bambooflat is finally set to be inaugurated tomorrow by the Chief Secretary in presence of the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The completion of the terminal is a much-awaited development for the residents of Bambooflat and the surrounding areas.
The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands had recently highlighted about the delay in inaugurating the Bus terminus after which now the bus terminal has been made ready for inauguration
The Mini Bus Terminus will have the facility of six departure bays to accommodate six buses at a time. The terminal will also have basic facilities like better passenger amenities, a spacious waiting hall, refreshment stalls, washrooms, a ticketing counter, and workshop & washing facilities for the buses.
Villagers of Bambooflat and Zilla Parishad member Miss V.K. Mariyam Bibi have expressed their gratitude towards the A&N Administration for fulfilling their long-pending demand for a mini-bus terminal. The new terminal is expected to benefit the commuters of Bambooflat and its surrounding areas.
Along with the Mini Bus Terminus, a parking space will also be developed on the adjacent land, which can be used by the general public for parking their vehicles. The parking space will ease the road congestion at Bambooflat Jetty and its adjoining areas to a great extent and facilitate organized parking of vehicles in the area.
