Port Blair, Apr 26: A CBI Team from Chennai reached Deputy Commissioner Office South Andaman on 24th April 2023 to investigate some case related to issue of Bar Licenses and Quarry Allotments.
According to reports the investigation continued even today and the CBI team consisted of atleast three officers from Chennai, headed by a DySP ranked officer, have been checking all documents related to issue of Bar Licenses and quarry allotment since 2018.
As per details, for this task few Junior Engineers of APWD and a few staffs from Secretariat have also been engaged by the CBI team. As per confirmed sources no one from CBI’s local unit are involved in this investigation. Technically the entire investigation does not look like a ‘Raid’ but only an ‘Investigation’.
As per sources, till now it is not clear whether the team checked any file related to Brand registration of liquors.
