Port Blair, Apr 20: ‘SHAURYA’, the 14th Techno Sports Fest of DBRAIT was organized and conducted by the DBRAIT Students Council led by Mr. S. Naresh, President, in the mini Stadium of Dollygunj with full fervor and pride on 15th April 2023. Dr. Prem Kishan, Ex Anesthetics of GBPH and a resident of Dollygunj was the chief guest for the Opening ceremony. Mr. J.K.Devan, student secretary (Sports) administered the oath to all the representatives of the departments of both Diploma and B.Tech programs. Later the Chief Guest declared the meet OPEN followed with the flying of the Balloons.
Earlier in the morning, to mark the auspicious beginning of Techno-Sports, the ceremonial torch was lit followed by the rally. The torch traversed the route, starting from Institutes’ Campus via Dollygunj village and entered the mini stadium.
The day long various track and field events followed by special events viz slow Bike race/ tug of war were conducted at mini Stadium. Later, the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony, Dr. Vijay Achary, Director ICMR, gave away the prizes to the best girl/Boy and the best departments followed by declaring the sports meet CLOSED.
Mr. Ayan Mondal of B. Tech Electronics & Communication Department, final year has been declared the best sports boy and Ms. Dipika Bairagi, first year student of Hotel management Department has been declared the best sports girl for this Techno-Sports Fest 2023.
The Hotel Management Department has been adjudged the best department for Girls and for the best department of Boys, its tie between B.Tech Civil/ECE and Diploma Electronics Department.
Mr. Sourab Das, Vice President of BRAIT students Council proposed the vote of thanks at the end, the communication received from Dean Students Affair and Convener of the Techno Sports 2023.
