Port Blair, Dec 27: In the second day of the Prestigious 58th SGFI National School Football Championship today, some exciting matches were played. The most high scoring match was between Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Central Board of Secondary Education. The KVS made the match one sided and scored 14 goals. The looser team couldn’t even score a single goal. Amit of KVS scored 5 goals alone.
The match played between Haryana and Indian Public School Conference at the newly developed Play Field at JNRM Campus, seemed a balanced one. Both the teams displayed their footballing skills superbly. The IPSC looked threatening at times, but the goal keeper of Haryana Vikram prevented them to convert their attempts into goals. The Captain of the Haryana team Prateek Singh Shah then capitalizing an opportunity scored the solitary goal of the match. Maharashtra too won its match against Puducherry by 1-0.
In another match played at Netaji Stadium Chattisgarh defeated Andhra Pradesh by 3-0. Earlier in the day the match between Tamil Nadu and Delhi was tied by 1-1. The last match played today was an exciting one , between Kerala and Karnatka. The Karnataka team took the lead in the first half by scoring a goal, but the Kerala boys came back strongly in the second half and scored the equalizer. Few minutes before the end of the play the Karnatka team scored the second goal but kerala team displayed some brilliant skills and leveled the score with 2-2.
Hundreds of football lovers turned up today at both the venues to enjoy the interesting games.
