Port Blair, Feb 23: Andaman Law College organized a Special Interactive Workshop on the theme “Changing Paradigms in the Field of Administrative Law” in the august presence of Shri Jayesh V. Bhairavia, Hon’ble Member (Judicial), Central Administrative Tribunal, Kolkata Bench, Circuit Bench at Port Blair. The said Workshop was attended by a gathering of around 200 people including students, faculties and staff of Andaman Law College.
Shri Jayesh V. Bhairavia in his Keynote Address highlighted the importance and scope of Administrative Law and Law in general. He also explained the role of Central Administrative Tribunal in amicable resolution of disputes between governmental employees and the government. In his address, he also underlined the four (4) holy principles that have been enshrined in the Preamble to our Constitution i.e., Justice, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity, and the connection of these principles with the concept of Rule of Law. He also touched upon the pertinent administrative issue of Judicial Activism and emphasized upon spreading of legal awareness and literacy at the grassroot level to effectively solve trivial legal complications. Coming from the background of advocacy, he concluded by giving certain pertinent suggestions for honing the legal/advocacy skills to all the students.
The entire Workshop was anchored by Akhila and Priyadarshini, 5th Year B.A. LL.B. students. Earlier, Shri Prashant Bhadu, Principal (i/c), Andaman Law College formally welcomed Shri Jayesh V. Bhairavia and extended his profound gratitude for gracing the occasion. Shri Prashant Bhadu emphasized on the issue of existing inequalities in the society and the need to augment the Access to Justice for all. In his concluding remarks Shri Suyash Verma, Assistant Professor (Law), Andaman Law College thanked the Keynote Speaker for taking out time from his busy schedule and for sharing his inspiring words and experiences on the field of Administrative Law.
