Port Blair, Jan 08: The Department related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports headed by its Chairman, Mr. Vivek Thakur today held meeting with banks (SBI, Canara Bank, Indian Overseas Bank and Union Bank) on efforts being made for loans/ funding arrangements with concerned stakeholders (Ministry of Education, State Governments, School, Higher Educational Institutions) to ensure successful implementation of the National Education Policy, 2020 and develop rural school infrastructure at Swaraj Dweep. The other Members of the Committee present in the meeting were S/ Mr. Ghanshyam Tiwari, Sadashiv KishenLokhande, Asit Kumar Mal, Chandreshwar Prasad, Jagannath Sarkar and Dharambir Singh.
The Deputy Managing Director, SBI, Mr. Prakash Chandra Kandpal along with other senior officials of Canara Bank, Indian Overseas Bank and Union Bank attended the meeting.
