Diglipur, Dec. 30: Paying homage to Netaji Shubhash Chandra Bose and to commemorate the 79th anniversary of hoisting of Tricolour by Netaji in Port Blair on this day in 1943, the National Flag was hoisted by Mr. PR Singa Ram, Pradhan, Subhashgram, Diglipur today at about 08:20 AM in front of the Statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in the Children park here today.
The flag hoisting was followed by the National Anthem. Netaji’s Statue was then garlanded by the Pradhan and others while other dignitaries gave floral tribute to this great freedom fighter. Pradhan and others delivered speeches.Rabi Tirtha Club, Diglipur took active participation in the program.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose hoisted the Tri-Colour in Port Blair as the Supreme Commander of Azad Hind Fauz and declared these islands free from British Rule.
