Port Blair, Nov. 03: The Wildlife staff of the Forest Department captured about a 2 meter long crocodile from the Check Dam behind the Rubber Plantation at Guptaparayesterday.
As per report, two weeks ago a crocodile was sighted by the villagers in the Check Dam at Guptapara and the residents of the area informed of the same to the Forest Department. Accordingly the staff of the Wildlife Division placed a cage and nets in the Check Dam to catch the croc so that they could safely relocate the reptile.
A few staff of the Forest Department were deployed near the dam to monitor the situation. The plan worked accordingly and the staff of the Wild Life/Forest Department found a crocodile measuring about 2 meters long trapped in the cage. Soon the information was passed to the Forest Department and the crocodile was then safely shifted to the Biological Park, the report further said.
