Port Blair, Nov 01: Proud moment for Islanders as A Chirag Kumar, a young chess player from Andaman & Nicobar Islands has opened his International Rating as per the latest FIDE Rating list published on 31st October 2022 by World Chess Federation(FIDE)
A Chirag Kumar, a class VII student of NCS, Minnie Bay, Port Blair, recently participated in the International FIDE Below 1600 Rated Chess Tournament held at Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh from 04.10.2022 to 06.04.2022 and performed brilliantly which led him to open the International Rating.
Note: (A FIDE rating system is a system used in chess by the World Chess Federation to estimate the strength of a player, based on their performance versus other players. In general, players’ ratings go up if they perform better than expected and down if they perform worse than expected.
