
Port Blair, Sept 28: On the occasion of World Tourism Day,Pankh, Andaman NGO organised a day camp for special children at Chinmaya Mission auditorium, Police Line.
Guests for the event were Mr.Naresh Chandra Lal (Padmashreeawardee and Ambassador ofSwatch Bharat Mission), Former MP Mr. Bishnu PadaRay, Social Worker Ms. Reeta Devi,Swami Sudhanadof Chinmaya Mission in the presence of founder president Ms.Komal Anand and the members of the NGO.
The camp included fun indoor sports and games for the special children and other cultural activities showcasing the talents of the special children. Two of the single parents were provided with income generating resources like sewing machine and the other was provided with a CP lock chair for hyper children.
Pankh NGO also adopted two families to fulfill the children’s daily needs. A mental health session was also conducted by Yoga expert Ms. Rajini Ahuja for the parents of the special children and also the parents did participate in the cultural program too.
The NGO also awarded their rolling trophy’Swachta hi Jeevan’ healing of the thoughts to SaraswatiShishu Mandir school followed by prizes which were awarded to the children for participating in various activities from which few where sponsored by “Trytrabby” an Andaman based destination management company. After the prize distribution the program concluded followed by lunch.
