
Port Blair, Sept. 13: It is a moment of pride for the A&N Administration, as Miss Techa hailing from the Andamanese tribal community became the first from her tribe to have successfully cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination (NEET) (UG)-2022. To encourage and congratulate Ms Techa for her outstanding achievement, the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS yesterday felicitated her for the glorious success. She has been awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- and a souvenir. The Chief Secretary also assuredall support from the A&N Administration for her future endeavors.
The achievement of Techa is a historic moment for Andamanese tribe as this feat has been achieved for the first time by a student of Andamanese tribe. The Andaman AdimJanjatiVikasSamiti, an autonomous body, working under the Directorate of Tribal Welfare provided financial assistance to complete her education from primary level to Class XII and assisted her in preparing for NEET examination. Miss Techa passed Class XII from Girls Senior Secondary School, Port Blair.
The Chief Secretary also directed the Directorate of Tribal Welfare to extend assistance to all PVTG students for their better future.
The Commissioner-cum-Secretary (TW) and Secretary (TW) were also present during the felicitation ceremony.
