
Port Blair, Aug 28: CPI (M) Middle Andaman Area Committee organized a Mass Dharna at Nimbudera Market in Middle Andaman on 27th August 2022 on various local issues like (i) Immediate reconstruction/repair of ATR Road/NH by NHIDCL, (ii) immediate repair of rural roads by APWD, (iii) against price rise (iv) posting of sufficient teachers in government schools, (v) posting of sufficient doctors and staff and providing medicine at PHC Billiground, etc. Mr. SR Mirdha, Secretary, CPI (M) Middle Andaman Area Committee inaugurated the Mass Dharna.
Mr. D. Ayyappan, Secretary, State Organising Committee, who was on a tour to North and Middle Andaman District and Mr.Nikunjo Biswas, State Secretariat Member also joined the Dharna. Dharna was led by State Organising Committee Members Rahul Dev Mirdha and PK Khalid. A large number of party workers of the Nimbudera and adjoining areas participated in the Mass Dharna.
Later in the evening, a public meeting was held at the Nimbudera Bazar. Addressing the public meeting, Mr. D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee criticized the central government and NHIDCL for not completing the re-laying and repair work of the ATR Road/NH. He said that portion/stretch of ATR Road/NH at many places in the Middle and North Andaman District are in worst condition and vehicles cannot pass through on those stretches of the ATR. Raising the issue of shortage of teachers in the schools at Middle Andaman, Mr. Ayyappan said that parents and party leaders have reported to him that almost all the schools are running without a Principal/Headmaster and sufficient teachers.
Addressing the meeting, Mr.Nikunjo Biswas, State Secretariat Member criticized the Administration for not posting sufficient doctors and staff at various hospitals in the Middle Andaman. Mr. SR Mirdha, Secretary, Area Committee presided over the meeting. Mr.RahuldevMirdha, State Organising Committee Member and Mr. Prakash Sardar also addressed the meeting.
