Port Blair, Jul 25: In connection to PMSAVNIdhiMahotsav, Port Blair Municipal Council has organized a week long programme chalked out from 15th July 2022 such as a Health check-up camp, Announcement cum Publicity through the vehicle in and around 24 wards, two days street food festival cum cultural programme in collaboration with IP&T, various Games for PM SVANidhi and DAY-NULM scheme beneficiaries were conducted, a training programme on digital payments, Loan Mela for PM SVANidhi beneficiaries, various lectures delivered on Financial literacy, food Hygiene, Hospitality and Reception Management and Street Drama in prominent places around PBMC areas. The Final day was celebrated at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Auditorium on 24th July 2022.
Chief guest: Mrs. U. Kavitha, Chairperson, PBMC was the Chief Guest along with Mr. Azizur Rahman, Senior Vice Chairperson, PBMC was the Guest of Honour. Mrs. A. Selva Rani, Junior Vice Chairperson, PBMC; Mrs. PandiSelvi, Chairperson, sub-committee (Education and Social Justice); Mr. C. Karunanidhi, Chairperson sub-committee (Finance and Taxation) with various ward councillors, Higher officials of PBMC, PM SVANidhi and DAY-NULM scheme beneficiaries were the special guests present at the occasion.
Mrs. ArpitaSinga Roy, a beneficiary under PM SVANidhi Scheme shared her experience with the scheme. Screening of documentary video sent by GoI along with local beneficiaries’ video interaction was shown. Distribution of Parichay Board and Prize distributed to various beneficiaries regarding sports and games was done. A cultural programme was organized, such as Street Drama, Group dance, Song etc.
Loans distributed under PM SVANidhi as of date are: First tranche loan of Rs 10,000 has been sanctioned to 482 Nos. Beneficiaries and under the first tranche loan target fixed by the Ministry for Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been Achieved ie. 450 Nos., and Second Tranche loan of Rs. 20,000 have been sanctioned to 92 Nos. Beneficiaries.
