Port Blair, July 15: Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Dr. L. Murugan today said that two 100 Watt FM Transmitters will be installed very soon at Swaraj Dweep and Car Nicobar which will improve transmission quality of FM Radio in these two Islands.
Addressing a press conference at Port Blair this evening at Hotel Coral Cove, Port Blair, the Minister said that the Government of India is committed to three guiding principles of Seva, Good Governance and welfare of the poor.
Talking about various achievements of the Modi Government, the Minister said that under Jan Aushadhi scheme there was a target of opening four Jan AushadhiKendras in Andaman and Nicobar Islands but till now 10 Jan Aushadhi Kendra have been opened.
He said by September 2021, 129 health and wellness centres have been opened across Andaman and Nicobar Islands against the target of 36.
He said that due to constant efforts of the government, Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been declared as a PDS kerosene free and also under Ujala scheme for 100 percent conversion to LED lights, four lakh LED bulbs have been distributed to beneficiaries of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The Minister presented detailed reports of work done and progress achieved by the BJP Government.
Later interacting with media persons, the Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying heard grievances of media persons and assured to take up issues of media persons of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
