Port Blair, Jul 13: The District Administration of South Andaman showing zero tolerance towards encroachment on Govt. land, carried out an encroachment eviction drive on 13th July 2022 at Port Blair and Ferrargunj Tehsil.
In Port Blair Tehsil the eviction drive initiated against the encroachment committed on the part of Govt. land at Aberdeen village and an area approx. 0.01 hect. of Govt. land restored to its original status. The said encroachment was in the shape of temporary structures and fencing.
In Ferrargunj Tehsil the eviction drive was carried and the encroachment committed in the shape of Tin Sheeted semi-permanent structure and fencing were removed at Hasmatabad and Kanyapuram village and restored an area of 0.02 ha. and 0.10 ha. respectively into the Govt. account.
