Port Blair, Jun 13: For several months the general public of the Hut Bay region have been demanding a new Ambulance for the PHC Hut Bay. The lone ambulance provided to the PHC Hutbay, reportedly giving serious hiccups during medical emergencies as the ambulance mostly remained out of service due to frequent breakdowns.
Several residents of Little Andaman have requested the DHS to intervene in this matter and send the new Ambulance to PHC Hut Bay as soon as possible.
When Andaman Sheekha Daily contacted Mrs. MunniSinghania, in charge, Directorate of Health Service, she informed that after frequent demand by the General Public and senior political leaders of Hut Bay a new ambulance is ready to transport to PHC Hut Bay.
However, she mentioned that although the ambulance is ready to transport to Hut Bay, due to the unavailability of the transportation Cargo ship, the vehicle was not sent on time. “We have requested the A&N Administration to provide a cargo vessel for the ambulance to reach Hut Bay as soon as possible,” she added.
