Port Blair, Jun 08: The entire South Andaman district from the night of 07th June 2022 has witnessed long power cuts for atleast eight times, which has caused immense problemsfor the people all over.
Due to the frequent power cuts, people are also witnessing low voltage issues and are helpless in this regard as this problem has been going on for several months. People of South Andaman often seek answers from the officials of the Electricity Department but only receive disappointments.
Regarding today’s power cut when Andaman SheekhaDaily contacted onesenior officer of the Electricity Department, the officer informed that there was a line and feeder fault, which typically takes more time to detect and also takes time to restore the electricity supply.
“With the help of the District Administration, work of removing the tree branches from the electric lines and also removing those branches which may in future disturb the electricity lines are in progress, which is also one of the reasons why the South Andaman district is facing power-cut problems.” the official added.
