Port Blair, May 17: In continuation to zero tolerance policy against any kind of crime, PS Pahargaon staff have cracked the theft case which took place at Selva Vinayaga Temple, Bhatubasti within 24 hours and arrested the accused person and recovered the stolen money 5674/-.
On 15/05/2022, a case vide FIR No. 84/2022 dtd 15/05/2022 U/s 380 IPC was registered at PS Pahargaon upon the complaint of Temple President, Selva Vinayaga Temple, Bathubasti regarding theft of money from the temple hundi. The investigation was entrusted to PSI Dilip Singh of PS Pahargaon and during course of investigation, CCTV footage of the temple was analysed and the suspected person was identified to be a notorious thief Nayan Bar S/o Bikash Bar, 21 yrs, Pvt. Worker, R/o Bhatubasti. A team of PS Pahargaon comprising of SI Mohd. Rahil Islam, HC/ A Raja, PC/Jagdish Babu, PC/Amit Kumar and PC/Ashok Kumar under supervision of Insp. Girish Kumar, SHO PS Pahargaon was constituted and the accused person was nabbed. He was arrested on 16/05/2022 at 1415 Hrs and later during sustained examination, he confessed regarding committing theft from the temple. The stainless steel heavy duty strip which was used to break open the hundi, shoulder bag containing the apparels which he wore during theft and cash of Rs. 5764/- was recovered from his possession. The team solved the theft case within 24 hours and successfully recovered stolen money.
