Port Blair, May 17:As part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, Nayapuram Youth Club in association with the local state level coaches of football and athletics organized a Sports Summer Camp for kids aged between 10 to 17 years.
For the past two years, there was no action due to the pandemic, the kids especially under 15 years have suffered both academically and in the outdoor activities which has affected both the physical and mental health of the kids.
Both academic and extracurricular activities are important for the kids and taking into consideration Nayapuram Youth Club has successfully initiated a Sports Summer Camp to boost the kids’ activities from 16th May 2022 at Nayapuram Village.
The event was declared open by the local PRI member Mr. P Abdul Basheer, Pradhan, Kanyapuram; Mr. M Shamim Ahmed, Samithi Member; Mr. VK Abdul Aziz, Zilla Parishad Member, Brindawan; Mr. A Ummer Zilla Parishad Member, Wimberly Gunj and Mr. P Ummer Zilla Parishad Member, Mannarghat.
While addressing the Kids and Parents all the Local Leaders encouraged them and lauded the activities of Nayapuram Youth Club and thanked the youths of NYC for their efforts in organizing such events. All the leaders assured full support and cooperation to successfully organizing such camps in near future also.
The Summer Camp Youth Club has appointed specialized coaches to train the kids. The events are distributed in two categories: Athletics and Football. Altogether 80 kids have enrolled in the programme. The inaugural session ended with a vote of thanks from Mr. P Khalid President, Nayapuram Youth Club.
