Port Blair, May 06: A fire was reported this morning from Refex Industry Private Limited, Mithakhari area.
As per information received, this morning at 7:30 AM workers of the industry who were residing behind the industry complex, noticed a thick smoke coming out from dry Copra and Coconut Oil, which were kept in the shed.
Immediately both the workers namely Mr. Kareem Mandal, 50 years, a permanent resident of Kolkata and Mr. Abdul Salam, 36 years, a permanent resident of Kolkata opened the shed and saw the fire in the oil container.
As per reports when they tried to control fire by pouring water they suffered burn injuries, after which they were rushed to nearby hospital and the Fire Brigade was informed.
It was learnt that soon one Fire Tender of Ferrargunj fire station and a Police team from Ograbaj Police Station reached the spot. As per reports the fire fighters brought the fire under control within 20 minutes.
Both injured people, who were shifted to Tushnabad Hospital, were later referred to GB Pant Hospital by Doctors.
