Port Blair, Apr 26: Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB), A&N Island a registered national-level organization for micro and small industries has celebrated its 29th Foundation Day at an event held on 25th April 2022 at Hotel Sea Shell, Marine Hill.
LaghuUdyogBharati was established in the year 1994 and is a Pan-India Organization with the aim of empowering Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the country.
LUB is one of India’s largest MSME industry Networks in India, with branches in every state having 32011 members (including 1318 ladies), 389 full units in India, and membership in 435 districts. It has the grass-root level insight into the challenges faced by the MSMEs as well as changing industry trends and practices on the ground.
Every year to commemorate the beginning of the All-India Association of LaghuUdyogBharati which empowers Small and Microenterprises, the 25th of April is celebrated as the SthapnaDiwas or LUB establishment day.
This is celebrated to remind and refresh all the members of the association about the objective and goals of LUB – that is to empower and uplift the small and micro industries for the bigger perspective of the nation’s growth.
Mr. Brijesh Pandey, Treasurer, LUB, A&N Islands offered the welcome address and briefed about the organization and shared the significance of Foundation Day with all the guests.
Mr. Yogesh Kumar, Assistant Director, Br. MSME-DI, Port Blair briefed about the various schemes and programmes of GoI to provide maximum support for budding entrepreneurs and MSMEs. The event was followed by an induction programme of new members by Mr. SravanAgarwala.
During the event, three entrepreneurs were honoured for their contribution towards MSMEs in these Islands. Mr. Alok Srivastava (Retd. EE, ALHW) was also felicitated for his exceptional service and contribution to the development of skilled manpower for MSMEs in these Islands.
