Port Blair, Mar 25: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President Mr. Rangalal Halder has demanded for restarting the functioning of Forest Corporation Guest House situated at Haddo, Port Blair which is remaining closed since many years.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, Mr. Halder stated that hundreds of inter-islander peoples travel to Port Blair for various reasons such as medical treatment, college admission, job etc and there is no accommodation facility provided for them by the A&N Administration.
Further, he stated that currently the inter-islander peoples have to stay in hotels and lodges by spending huge amount which cannot be afforded by our poor Islanders.
He suggested that, if the said Guest House is opened for the general public then it will benefit hundreds of inter-islander peoples and save their hard earned money.
Hence, he requested the LG to take up this matter with the A&N Administration and start functioning of Forest Corporation Guest House to solve the present hardship of inter-islander peoples.
