Diglipur, March 14: A violent road accident occurred early this morning in Diglipur in which one died on the spot while another one was severely injured.
As per report, the accident took place on the road near a Church at Radhanagar at around 05.45AM today when a pvt truck was going to Radhanagar while a motorcycle coming to Diglipur Bazaar from Shyamnagar.
Mr. Dipen Das, S/o Mr. Tarun Das, R/o Shyamnagar, aged about 24 years who was driving the motorcycle died on the spot while his aunt Mrs. Manju Das, age about 30 years riding pillion on the bike sustained severe head injury in the accident. Both were rushed to the PHC, Radhanagar and then after doing the necessary first-aid treatment, Mrs. Manju Das was referred to CHC, Diglipur where her condition is stated to be critical, a source said.
Mrs. Manju Das with her critical condition due to head injury will be further referred to GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair who will be airlifted by chopper tomorrow, the source also said.
