Port Blair, Mar 11: Keeping in line with the philosophy of zero tolerance against the sale of narcotic drugs in the South Andaman District, the Staff of PS Chatham seized 80 grams & 50 grams of ‘Methamphetamine’ from two drug peddlers on 08th March 2022.
While random checking in connection with a dry day, the team of PS Chatham seized 80 grams of Methamphetamine from a person namely J. Kanan S/o Late Jaya Ram (45 yrs) R/o Near Fisheries Jetty, Port Blair. On this, a case vide FIR No. 14 dated 08th March 2022 U/s 22(c) of NDPS Act, 1985 was registered at PS Chatham and he was arrested on the spot.
During the investigation, another 50 gms of Methamphetamine was seized from a person namely P. Veeranmani S/o Mr. Palani, 28 yrs, R/o Haddo.
He was arrested and subsequently third accused namely A. Naganathan S/o Late Arumugam, 38 yrs, R/o Haddo was arrested for his involvement in the crime.
