Port Blair, Mar 04: A team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) A & N Island unit, today arrested two senior officers of Central GST in graft case, CBI officials confirmed today.
As per details the officers had allegedly demanded some amount as bribe for GST registration from a local businessman and while accepting the bribe the officials were arrested red handed.
Sources said that during search Rs. 10 Lakh cash has been recovered from the residence of one of the officers.
The Team of CBI consisted of Dy.SP Mr. Subhash, Inspector Mr. R K Joshi, Sub Inspector Mr. Vinit Khasa and other sub ordinate staffs.
According to details the arrested officials have been taken into custody and shall be produced in special CBI court tomorrow. Further details are awaited.
