
Port Blair, Feb 27: Field Outreach Bureau, Port Blair a publicity wing under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Ministry organized an awareness campaign on Azadika Amrit Mahotsav in association with Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chouldari, A&N Islands on 26th February 2022.
The programme was attended by the students from GSSS Port Mout, VKZPV, Port Mout and Don Bosco, Port Mout.
Inaugurating the programme Ms. Sreelatha NP, Principal of JNV talked about the Independence Movement and how thousands of freedom fighters sacrificed their lives to make our country free.
She urged the students to follow the path of the great leaders and help to become India a great nation. She reiterated that we must contribute our best to the country as the country is providing us with the best available facilities.
Chief Guest of the programme Dr. Ram Kripal Tiwari, Associate Professor, Tagore Govt. College of Education, Port Blair said that the most important thing in life is to respect the elders; if respect is given to them then only a nation can progress.
He recalled how the freedom fighters used to respect their mother and motherland. Dr. Tiwari said Ayu, Vidya, Yash, bal are the four components that help people to improve their existence and consequently help in building the nation.
Welcoming the guests and the audience Field Publicity Officer, Sandipon Dasgupta, talked about Azadika Amrit Mahotsav and the contribution of innumerable people who sacrificed their lives in the freedom struggle.
The programme contained a seminar, drawing competition, essay writing competition and quiz competition. Among others, the programme was attended by a senior officer of theI&B Ministry Mr. Bikash Das.
A vote of thanks was given by the teacher of the school Mr. Rajeev Kumar.
