Port Blair, Feb 25: Humane Touch in association with DIET, Garacharma organized an Awareness Program for the students of DIET on 24th February 2022 at DIET auditorium.
Mrs. Anuradha Mishra welcomed the dignitaries and 70 students who participated in the program.
Mr. M Sailabdeen, Principal, DIET highlighted the need for awareness on the impact of drugs and alcohol on the students’ community.
Dr. MitheshBehari, Consultant Neuro- Psychiatrist at Dr. Rithika’s Diagnostic Solution was the keynote speaker in the program. He emphasized the ill effects of social evils on mental health. He had an active interaction session with the students.
Further, he gave tips to cope with the ill effects of social evils and their impact on the mental health of the young generation.
Mr. N.Abdul Salam, Former Executive Member, Humane Touch briefed about the activities done by Humane Touch in the field of Alcoholism. He spoke about the problems faced by the families due to alcoholism & drugs. He pointed out the consequences of alcoholism that destroy families and societies and lead to a surge in domestic violence and crime.
Documentaries on Alcoholism and a film on Mind Matters were showcased for the students of DIET by Humane Touch. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Suja Johnson.
