Port Blair, Feb 25: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma called the Chief Secretary on 22.02.2022 and highlighted the problems of frequent power cuts in Port Blair, South Andaman and other Islands, which are witnessed almost everyday.
Highlighting the issue, the Member of Parliament pointed out that every day 10 to 12 such power cuts for shorter duration is witnessed by Islanders of Port Blair, South Andaman and other Islands, which is not only causing inconvenience to public but also damaging large number of electrical appliances and hence causing huge loss to public.
He pointed out that not everyone in the city can afford an inverter or power backup system at home and hence most of the Islanders are suffering because of such power outages.
After listening to the issue, the Chief Secretary assured the Member of Parliament to look into the matter.
