Port Blair, Feb 23: State President of The National Students Union of India, Mr. M.A Sajid has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to postpone the re-opening of colleges in A&N Islands after the Elections.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary of the A&N Administration, Mr. Sajid stated that the polling of Municipal &Panchayat Election is scheduled on 06th March 2022 and if the Administration will re-open the colleges then it will affect the voting process.
As thousands of students residing in the inter-Islands, especially of North & Middle Andaman District and Southern Group of Islands have to come to Port Blair and thereafter cannot exercise their voting rights in their respective villages.
Hence, on behalf of the students, he requested the Chief Secretary to kindly postpone the re-opening of colleges after 06th March 2022 so that students can vote in this Election.
